About Me

Welcome To My Glimmery World!

Hi, I’m Shelah! I started Glimmers in Chaos because I believe something simple but powerful:
Even in a complicated world, there are always moments of light.
They might appear in the garden while harvesting tomatoes, in the pages of a beautiful book, during a quiet yoga practice, or in a conversation that reminds you you’re not alone.
These small moments are easy to overlook, but they are often the ones that carry us forward.
This blog is a reminder to notice them.

How It All Began

I have been a life long reader and writer. In 2003 my own health crisis spurned me to begin sharing my story through blogging. I became a certified yoga instructor and a holistic nutrition specialist during my healing journey.

This blog is the space where I am finally at peace with the road I have traveled and where I can hope to inspire others to seek their own Glimmers and healing.

Get to Know Shelah

What is your favorite thing to grow in the garden?

Tomatoes. Hands down. I also love looking out at the garden and seeing zinnias and sunflowers popping off their cheerful colors.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I can’t resist fantasy, romance, and a little quirky nonfiction – basically anything that sparks imagination or makes me feel deeply. If a book can make me laugh while reading it – It becomes a favorite. I also LOVE a good thriller with tons of twists and turns.

What do you love most about yoga?

Our world is pure chaos most days. When I get to roll out my mat, all of that melts away for me. It’s just me, my breath and my own beautiful and strong body..

Describe your dream reading spot?

A cozy chair with a soft blanket, twinkly lights, and a rainy day outside. That is the stuff that magic is made of.

Book Club? Say no more.

The app is free, and so is our group. Download it for your device. Search for our club: Glimmer Books and request to join. Each month we have a selected title and discussion as well as ongoing lobby chats.

Inspiration, through Glimmers

Whether you’re here for gardening inspiration, thoughtful reflections, bookish conversations, or simply a moment of calm in a busy day, I’m so glad you stopped by.

May you always find your own glimmers, even in the middle of the chaos. I would love if you would consider joining my mailing list so we could stay in touch. No spam, just joy.

The Great Social Media Exhaustion Era A few of my glimmers from the past week’ish. ❤️ You ever have one of those moments where everything just… clicks into place a little too clearly? Where you realize you’ve been showing up, holding space, carrying weight—and when it’s your turn… it’s quiet? Protect Your Peace Like It’s Sacred (Because It Is) Wisteria is said to be a symbol of immortality….as deadly as it is beautiful. Resilient for centuries even when left forgotten. Spring has sprung at the farm. 2 incubators full of babies. Meaties in one. Turks in the other. ❤️🐣 Kindness in a Loud World: Choosing Humanity During Divided Times Books keep me from yelling at people in public. Yoga because rage-stretching is still stretching. (Hi Jio)
