This Week in the Garden 3-25

This week, our energy has been spent getting the last of the spring garden seedlings planted and trimming up our heartier winter garden things. (We have SO many collards still!) We have been planting flowers like crazy and I am so excited to finally be having some success with roses this season.

Here in North Florida, we are right on the border of zone 8B and 9a. So it’s time for us to get tomatoes and peppers in the ground. I have also direct sowed corn, green beans, fava beans and all of the cucumbers. Our weather is super windy in the spring here so I make sure that everything is mulched well to help keep our soil moist for all of the new plant babies.

I am trying tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets this season. I also am doing potatoes in a milk crate tower.

New experiments to gain more knowledge…and give us more growing space to grow all of the things. I will be fertilizing all new plantings very well this week as well.

I love spring time in the garden!

Things we adore
