Pull Up a Chair
Welcome to Glimmers in Chaos, my little corner of the internet for good books, garden dirt, honest wellness, creative joy, and noticing the tiny beautiful things that keep glowing even when life gets loud.
I’m Shelah. Writer, gardener, yoga teacher, book nerd, maker of things, keeper of dogs and poultry, and enthusiastic collector of glimmery moments. This is not a place where we pretend life is perfectly curated. Around here, the weeds grow, the coffee gets cold, plans go sideways, and somehow there is still something worth noticing.
How I Got Here
Years ago, I walked into my first yoga class in the middle of a health crisis. I was severely overweight, anxiety had become a constant companion, and I was deeply uncomfortable in my own body. So naturally, I found the safest possible location in the room: the very back.
I went back twice a week. I still hid in the back. But slowly, things began to change.
Over time I lost 100 pounds, but the bigger transformation had very little to do with the number on the scale. Yoga taught me how to stay present when things were uncomfortable. It taught me how to listen to my body instead of constantly fighting it. It gave me a doorway back into my own life.
That experience eventually led me to become a yoga instructor and shaped so much of what I believe about wellness today: it should make our lives bigger, kinder and more livable, not become another impossible standard we are failing to meet.

A Little About the Chaos
I live on a small farm in North Florida with my husband, two very opinionated dogs, chickens who have largely retired from their official duties, and a Turkey Committee that believes supervision is required for nearly everything I do.
Some days I’m writing. Some days I’m teaching yoga. Some days I’m standing in the garden wondering who ate an entire plant overnight. Most days contain coffee.
Glimmers in Chaos is where all of those pieces meet.
Where Should You Start?
There really isn’t a wrong door. Follow whatever catches your attention today.
I’m glad you wandered in. I hope something here helps you feel a little lighter, a little more curious, or a little more at home in your own wonderfully imperfect life.
